This panel session will provide an overview on the specification and design of lighting control systems utilizing different control topologies. Wireless, 0-10v and Digitally Addressable systems will be discussed. Basic application examples will be presented and pros and cons of each system type will be shared. Additional topics include: personal control, daylighting, and emergency integration.

Moderator: Ardra Paige Zinkon

Ardra is the President of Tec Studio, a lighting and technology design firm located in Columbus, Ohio. Ms. Zinkon has been working as a professional lighting designer since 1997 and is dedicated to the practice of professional lighting design. She is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and is also a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). Ms. Zinkon regularly serves as a guest lecturer at the Ohio State University, Miami University and Kent State. She has presented at multiple IES sections across the Midwest and has presented nationally at the IALD Enlighten Americas conference, Lightfair, NeoCon, and GovEnergy.

Panelist: Lee Marshall

Leereceived his degree Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He spent the early part of his career in the theatrical lighting and controls field. After almost ten years in theatrical lighting, he started working with Cooper Controls assuming the position North East Sales Representative for the Mid-Atlantic region. He currently works locally for Spectrum Lighting. Lee is a long standing member of the IES. He served on the Pittsburgh board and now serves locally.

Panelist: Scott Gray, L.C., LEED AP

Scott graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Ohio University. He has experience in design and specification, manufacturing, and currently sales for Bright Focus. Scott has served as a board member for the local Columbus IES section for several years and has published a number of articles in various trade magazines including LD+A.
